I was raised in Australia - so never saw the Fred Rogers shows until on a visit to Canada last year - but I to have a dream and am on a mission to get better shows on TV for kids.

When my 4 and 6 yr old were babies we wanted to give them a love of learning - so along with traditional toys and books we looked for media /tv that would enhance their learning and better prepare them for the fast paced highly competitive world they are growing into.

I was dismayed to find so many shows designed for kids were pure babysitting, or brain numbing, time wasting mush. Sure they looked pretty - but what did they teach kids. Some were down right violent or they were way to old for their understanding.

So finally after reviewing everything we could find - we stopped complaining and did something about it. We made a show called Snapatoonies - it is exactly the shows I wanted my kids to watch. They are slower paced - and being designed for babies/toddler they mimic what you and I as mum's do with our kids while reading them books. We read the story - and also point out other things to learn from each page. How many triangles are on this page? What noise does a cow make? We have fun and interact.

So Snapatoonies is very interactive and fun but most importantly it educates kids while it is entertaining them. Take a look and send us your feedback - Snapatoonies.com or search on Snapatoonies on You Tube.

We have made some 20 Plus shows now - but as we are self funding this only 4 are available in the US, Canada and Aust as I write this. We value any and all feedback and comments.

Please join with us in demanding better quality TV and media that will better equip them for preschool, school and the challenges they face in our fast moving world.
